Join us for a weekend getaway with your family to explore the "ancient capital of six dynasties" from a fresh perspective. From the Yangtze River to the Hongshan Forest Zoo, this two-day, one-night journey invites you to discover the wild essence hidden within this historic city. Humanity and this land—its forests and rivers—are intertwined and shaped by each other in an ever-evolving story with no conclusion, brimming with possibilities and imagination. As the saying goes, "The Zhongshan Mountain coils like a dragon, and the Stone City crouches like a tiger." This time, we want to take you on a journey to interpret Nanjing from a whole new angle.

  1. D1: Arrive in Nanjing Finless Porpoise City Park - Finless porpoise monitoring stat

    Gather at the riverside in Gulou District, Nanjing at 9:00 a.m. for the opening ceremony, featuring a lecture on the Yangtze finless porpoise. Following this, we will join the Nanjing Jiangjin Aquatic Biology Association to explore the wetland reserve in search of wild finless porpoises and witness the thrilling sight of these majestic creatures. We will also visit the finless porpoise monitoring station to learn about the reserve's smart monitoring system and hear stories about the conservation of finless porpoises.

    In the afternoon, we will visit the first professional fish stocking station in Jiangsu Province—the Yangtze Fish Stocking Station—to understand the concept and significance of scientific fish release. Then, we will explore the Yangtze River Aquatic Life Museum, where we can observe live Yangtze fish and models of rare fish specimens. While learning about the conservation of Yangtze aquatic life, scientific fish release, and relevant legal knowledge, we will also participate in a scientific fish release activity, returning rare fish to the Yangtze River and taking practical action to restore the vitality of the river.

  2. D2: Nanjing - Hongshan Zoo - Nanjing-Nanjing Geological Museum; Departure or Extension Program

    Morning: We will visit the Red Mountain Forest Zoo to explore exhibition areas such as the Africa Zone, Tangjiahe Zone, and Gondwana Zone. We will observe the natural behaviors of the animals, analyze the zoo's excellent exhibit design, and discuss the importance of prioritizing animal welfare and enrichment.

    Afternoon: We will visit the Nanjing Geological Museum. Built in 1935, this museum is one of the oldest geological museums in China. It houses a vast collection of precious artifacts, including the first dinosaur skeleton assembled by Chinese experts, a 26-meter-long petrified wood known as the "King of Petrified Wood," and the skull of the Paraceratherium, the largest land mammal that ever lived. We will also delve into the ecological secrets of ancient Nanjing from hundreds of thousands of years ago by examining the Nanjing Man fossils and the prehistoric creatures that coexisted with them.

    Evening: The activity will conclude, and participants are free to return home.
