As the capital, Amman is a city where ancient heritage seamlessly blends with contemporary life, boasting historical sites such as the Roman Theater alongside dynamic markets and a vibrant cultural atmosphere—truly the gateway to understanding Jordan.

In the evening, a welcome dinner will be held at a local restaurant. Over scrumptious local cuisine, team members can mingle, relax, and kick off our journey together.

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Jerash. As one of northern Jordan’s most significant archaeological sites, Jerash—often called the "Pompeii of the East"—is among the best-preserved Greco-Roman city complexes outside the Mediterranean. With our guide, we walk along colonnaded streets, past temples and theaters, immersed in the classical civilization of two millennia ago.

Following lunch, we return to Amman. We ascend the Amman Citadel, overlooking layered traces of Roman, Byzantine, and Islamic civilization, then descend to the Roman Theatre at the foot of the hill—where history accumulates, stratum upon stratum. Afterwards, we enjoy a citywalk through downtown Amman, slipping into vibrant souks and sampling street food that captures the flavors and rhythms of this country.

As night falls, we return to the hotel, letting the lingering echoes of the capital accompany us as we quietly reflect on the day’s passage.

  3. D3: Amman - As-Salt - Madaba - Amman

After breakfast, we drive to the historic city of As-Salt. Located not far from Amman, this mountain town was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2021 under the title “The City of Tolerance and Urban Hospitality,” becoming Jordan’s sixth World Heritage site.

Once a thriving trade hub, As-Salt welcomed merchants from Syria, Lebanon and beyond, who transformed it into a prosperous crossroads. People of diverse cultural backgrounds, religions, and ethnicities lived here in harmony. We will take a leisurely walk through the old city, exploring its traditional neighborhoods, historic stairways, local markets, and centuries-old heritage homes—experiencing the everyday rhythm of Jordanian life, woven from coexistence and community.

After lunch, we continue to Madaba, renowned for its Byzantine-era mosaic masterpieces depicting biblical scenes, including the oldest surviving map of the Middle East. From there, we ascend Mount Nebo, where Moses once looked out upon the Promised Land. Today, we stand on the same summit, taking in sweeping views of the Jordan Valley.

We return to our hotel in Amman for the night.

Accommodation : The House Boutique Suites Hotel (or similar)

  4. D4: Amman - Dana Biosphere Reserve - Little Petra

After breakfast, we depart Amman and head south toward the magnificent Dana Biosphere Reserve — one of Jordan’s largest and most ecologically diverse protected areas.

The Dana-to-Petra stretch is among the most varied and breathtaking sections of the Jordan Trail, and it’s here that our hike begins! The trail winds through deep valleys and along rugged cliffs, with mountain ranges unfolding in layers across the horizon. It’s a route full of character—sometimes scrambling over rough stone, sometimes rolling up pant legs to wade through shallow pools. Thanks to the reliable water sources and varied terrain, unexpected oases emerge, where life thrives with quiet resilience.

We pause for a picnic lunch in a shaded spot within the canyon, surrounded by striking scenery, before continuing onward to Little Petra. This ancient Nabataean outpost is more understated and intimate than its grand counterpart. Rock-cut tombs, small temples, and sandstone façades appear in succession along the narrow gorge—still marked by the chisel, still carrying the presence of those who carved them. Walking through, one can almost glimpse the ingenuity and reverence left behind by a once-great caravan civilization.

Tonight we stay at a fixed camp near Little Petra—simple, comfortable, and a special way to immerse ourselves in the wild.

Transport : Private Vehicle (4-5 hours)

Accommodation : Little Petra Bedouin Camp (or similar)

Meal : Breakfast; Lunch (Food Package); Supper (Camp Meal)

  5. D5: Little Petra - Petra

After breakfast, we set off on Day 2 of our Jordan Trail trek! Starting from the peaceful Little Petra, we follow the same route once taken by ancient caravan traders—avoiding the crowds and approaching the Rose City from a more traditional perspective.

The trail unfolds through desert plateaus, Bedouin campsites, and slowly moving herds of goats. Entering the ancient city, we arrive at the Monastery (Ad-Deir), where the sandstone cliffs suddenly open up to reveal this monumental façade carved directly into the mountain, standing in quiet majesty as it has for centuries. Descending the 800 stone steps into the heart of Petra, the Treasury (Al-Khazneh) gradually emerges through the narrow cleft of the gorge—its rose-hued columns and weathered carvings catching the light, still greeting travelers after thousands of years.

Petra is far more expansive than most imagine. Tired legs can find rest at a Bedouin tea stall, sipping sweet tea while watching sunlight shift across the stone walls. We’ve allowed plenty of time to take in the city’s unparalleled architecture, layered history, and tucked-away corners.

Tonight, you may choose to experience Petra by Night, or return early to the hotel and give your hiking-weary legs a well-earned rest.

  6. D6: Petra

After breakfast, we will enter the Petra Archaeological Site for the second time, led by an archaeologist. As the pinnacle of Nabataean civilization, Petra's value extends far beyond its grand architecture.

This was once a densely populated city. After carefully observing and adapting to the surrounding environment, the Nabataeans carved an oasis out of the vast desert by constructing dams and laying underground water pipe systems. It was this survival ingenuity under harsh natural conditions that sustained such a large population and made Petra an indispensable hub along the Middle East trade routes.

We will systematically tour the main ruins, with the expert explaining the engineering principles of the aqueducts, the stylistic fusion of the temple architecture, and the social structure reflected in the burial complexes.

After the tour, we will visit a local Bedouin family. While enjoying a hearty dinner of Jordan's national dish, Mansaf, we will listen to the family's stories about their heritage and traditions. From the daily life of these modern nomads, we can still sense the continuation of the ancient nomadic culture.

Accommodation : Petra Legacy Luxury Hotel (or similar)

Meal : Breakfast; Supper (Feature Dinner)

  7. D7: Petra - Wadi Rum

After breakfast, depart Petra and journey south into the vast wilderness of Wadi Rum, where towering Sandstone Mountains rise from endless desert plains. Upon arrival, settle into your camp and check in to your luxury Martian tents, blending comfort with a striking sense of place.

The adventure unfolds with an off-trail hike on Jabal Al Hash, one of Wadi Rum’s most scenic and less-traveled routes. Reached by 4x4, the hike follows a rugged ridgeline, offering sweeping panoramic views across the desert’s dramatic rock formations and open valleys. The pace is steady and rewarding, allowing time to absorb the silence, scale, and raw beauty of the landscape. Along the way, enjoy a traditional Bedouin lunch and tea breaks, creating moments of connection and rest amid the vast surroundings.

After the hike, embark on a Jeep Tour. We will venture through the heart of the desert, witnessing the shifting landscapes of canyons, sand dunes, and wind-carved rock formations. Perhaps even discover traces of ancient human activity on seemingly ordinary rocks.

In the evening, head back to your camp, relax briefly, then enjoy an authentic Bedouin dinner and an overnight under the starts.

  8. D8: Wadi Rum - The Dead Sea

After breakfast, we will depart from Wadi Rum Desert and travel by vehicle to the Dead Sea. A simple lunch will be provided en route, and we will arrive at the Dead Sea in the late afternoon.

After several days of trekking, it’s finally time for some leisurely respite! The Dead Sea is the lowest lake on Earth, with a salinity of 34%, allowing people to float effortlessly on its surface. The afternoon is free for you to explore. Together, we will head to the shore of the Dead Sea, apply its unique mineral-rich mud all over our bodies, and enjoy the skincare benefits of this natural spa. After rinsing off, stepping into the lake, our bodies are gently lifted by the highly saline water, as if defying gravity. Lying back, the world narrows to the vast blue sky above and the cool, enveloping water around us. This remarkable sensation of weightlessness is a unique gift from the Dead Sea.

In the evening, we will conclude our journey on a high note with a farewell dinner, raising a toast to celebrate this cultural hiking adventure along the Jordan Trail, immersed in the heart of Jordanian heritage.
