Event Theme: Guardians of the Water - The Haenyeo Path of Jeju Island, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage
Today, we will travel by bus to the Haenyeo Museum, where you will dive deep into understanding the ancient and mysterious profession of the haenyeo (female divers). Here, you will see the traditional homes where haenyeo once lived, the diving tools they used with their own hands, and their unique attire, offering a glimpse into their symbiotic lifestyle with the ocean, as if traveling back in time.
We will have the privilege of meeting real haenyeo, hearing their stories about the profession, and learning about the challenges and courage that are little known in their daily lives. This is not just a visit but an emotional and soul-stirring experience.
After lunch, we will head along the coastline to Seopjikoji, known for its stunning coastline and expansive views. The flat grasslands stretch toward the sea, and the cliffs formed by volcanic rocks make the coastline even more majestic. The sea, cliffs, grasslands, and distant mountains together create a beautiful picture, especially on clear days when the blue sky and the ocean reflect each other, making for a truly captivating scene.

Today promises to be a challenge for everyone, as well as an exhilarating adventure. Together with our outdoor guide, we will embark on a magnificent journey to climb the highest peak of Jeju Island—Hallasan. Standing at 1,947 meters above sea level, Hallasan is South Korea's tallest mountain. This majestic volcanic mountain, formed by ancient eruptions, is awe-inspiring not only for its height but also for its remarkable volcanic landscape.
Upon reaching the summit, you will be greeted by Baengnokdam, a crater lake nestled at the top of the mountain. Though small in size, it symbolizes the soul of Hallasan. Along the way, the landscape is dotted with lava fields, basalt, and uniquely shaped volcanic rocks, all of which seem to tell the story of the Earth's power and history. Today, we will measure this magnificent land with our footsteps and conquer this great mountain with our perseverance.
