Early in the morning transfer to the airport. Flight to Lima and connection destination Quito. Arrive at Quito after midday. Transfer to your hotel to leave the luggage and start your sightseeing tour of the city. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city by heading the Panecillo Hill，

The tour continues to Quito's Old Town and the Basilica Church, where you will make a brief stop,then you will have the opportunity to walk through the colonial streets and stop at the Independence Plaza admiring the Cathedral, the Government’s Palace and Ronda Street. You will also visit La Compañia Church, the Sagrario Church and the San Francisco Church, which was built during the 17th century. Night in Quito.

Leave early in the morning and take “The Volcanoes Avenue” to Latacunga. Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano in the world (5.897 m) located two hours from Quito. Along the way, we’ll see different mountains including, El Corazon, Rumiñahui, Illinizas, Pasochoa and Atacazo.

After entering the National Park we hike around the Limpiopungo lake at the foot of the volcano. After, we’ll climb the volcano by vehicle until 4500 meters. From the parking lot we can walk until 4.800 meters where there is a refuge (Jose Ribas Refuge) and from there continue up to reach the glacier front at an altitute of 5000 m. Of course, all plans depend on the weather. Also, we’ll visit the Interpretation Center where we’ll learn about the flora and the fauna of the park and the moors protected area. After breakfast, you will drive south of Machachi through the Avenue of the Volcanoes and pass through the towns of Latacunga and Pujilí. Leaving the main road, we continue to the town of Tigua, home of indigenous art. We will continue to Quilotoa Volcano, where you can descend to its lagoon, one of the 15 lagoons of volcanic origin appreciated as the most beautiful in the world according to Twistedsifter. Enjoy lunch in Quilotoa.
