    【Morning】
After breakfast, we’ll depart Seoul by vehicle for Bukhansan National Park. Following a brief warm-up, we begin our hike. Ascending gently along stone steps glistening with morning dew, the crisp calls of forest birds accompany us. The early autumn breeze carries the subtle fragrance of pine needles and maple leaves, composing a tender overture to our mountain adventure. After about 40 minutes, we reach Deungungak Pavilion on the mountainside. Pausing at this ancient viewing platform, we’re greeted by a layered tapestry of autumn foliage – fiery red maples interwoven with deep evergreen. This very spot was featured in My Love from the Star (별에서 온 그대), where Cheon Song-yi and Do Min-joon strolled; the autumn hues here are even more vivid and alive than on screen.

After a short stay, we continue upwards along steep cliffside trails. Upon reaching the summit of Baegundae Peak (836.5m), the sweeping panorama of mountains and rivers – the same vista gazed upon by Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok in Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착) – unfolds authentically before us. Beneath our feet lies a “burning sea” of maple leaves, while downtown Seoul basks in the autumn sun in the distance.

Post-lunch, we descend along the western ridge, traversing the awe-inspiring Dragon Rock Gate (Yongammun). Frost-kissed maple branches stretch elegantly from the granite cliffs, painting strokes of warmth against the cool stone canvas. Every step feels like walking through a secret gallery carved by nature and time. As the maple-lined path gradually levels, we enter the millennium-old Jungheungsa Temple, nestled in a serene valley. Here, your restless thoughts may settle. Golden ginkgo leaves blanket the temple’s tiled courtyard. Take a moment’s rest within the temple grounds, allowing its tranquil Zen atmosphere to soothe the fatigue of the climb.

    【Afternoon】
We drive to Abai Village (아바이마을) in Sokcho City, renowned for its rich history and peaceful ambiance. Transformed from a once-sleepy fishing village into a famous tourist destination and culinary hub through its appearances in the K-drama Autumn in My Heart (가을 동화) and the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night (1박 2일), it offers a unique coastal charm.

  3. D3: 설악산 국립공원 - 속초

    [Full Day]
As Seoraksan is the first place in Korea to welcome autumn colors, we arrive early at the entrance of Seorak-dong Small Park. We begin today's autumn feast along the wooden boardwalk. Morning mist drifts through crimson leaves as we traverse a gentle section to reach our first stop: Sinseondae (Fairy Terrace). Legend says this is where immortals ascended to heaven; today, it offers the premier viewpoint for watching dawn paint the mountain peaks red.

From Sinseondae, the true mountain challenge begins. Approximately 2 kilometers of stone steps lead us into Seoraksan's core scenic zone: Geumganggul Cave (Diamond Cave). Here, a hundred-meter-long tunnel of red maples glows radiantly under the morning sun. Millennia-old stone Buddha statues stand serenely amidst crimson cliffs, where scarlet maple leaves seem to cast natural candlelight upon the ancient Buddhist art. This is one of the most photogenic spots on the entire route.

Continuing our ascent, the Triad of Cheonbuldong Waterfalls will awe your senses. The Cheongpok Falls (Azure Jade)Jinjeon Falls (Pearl), and Cheonbul Falls (Heavenly) unfold in sequence. Waters cascade down cliffs ablaze with red and gold, revealing breathtaking autumn vistas around every turn.

At midday, we refuel and rest at Heeungeak Shelter. From here, the most demanding 1.7-kilometer summit push awaits. The near-60-degree "Stairway to Heaven" section requires using both hands for balance, but each meter climbed rewards with ever-expanding views. When you finally stand atop Daecheongbong Peak (1,708m), all fatigue is healed by the panorama before you: jagged ridges emerge from a sea of clouds, while the azure East Sea meets valleys painted in layered autumn hues, forming an endless scroll of fall splendor.

The descent is considerably gentler. We pass through alpine meadows where golden reeds sway in the wind, and witness Seorak Falls plunging through a gorge of fiery reds and golds. Afternoon sunlight crowns the spray with rainbow halos. Finally, we reach Osaek Valley (Five Colors Valley). Here, crimson leaves float upon crystal-clear streams, and the interplay of light and shadow makes every step feel like walking through a watercolor painting.

From the first red leaf in the morning mist to the last mountain hue at sunset, today's autumn pilgrimage through Seoraksan will become the most vibrant memory of your journey through Korea.

In the evening, we can head to Sokcho Jungang Market to savor the freshest seafood and reward ourselves after today's adventure.
