三江源地区是是世界上最大连续区域的雪豹栖息地，是世界上杰出的野生动物研究学者之一的乔治 ·夏勒博士常年踏足的圣土。他说：地球上存在着一些独一无二的地区， 它们仍保持着原始状态，而青藏高原就是这样的一片土地。作为完好无损的高山草原区域，青藏高原是我们研究这种环境和生活在其中的动物最后的机会。夏季是澜沧江源一年最好的季节，除了随处在草地上撒欢儿的旱獭，我们所漂江段还看到过雪豹、白唇鹿、岩羊、高原兔、高原山鹑、金雕、高山兀鹫、胡兀鹫、藏雪鸡等等。
这就是我们要去的地方。
